I would go so far as to say that I have only ever personally been Managed by one truly Great Sales Manager.
He was very much of the philosophy of the old school, carrot and stick. If you did well you were rewarded and if you didn’t do well you were shown the door.
This may sound harsh and it was but he had a very simple philosophy, if you follow his lead he will make you very rich and he did.
This brings me to my though of the day, have I managed my teams as well, and could I have done better.
Well the answer is a Resounding Yes, the single greatest Attribute a Sales Manager can have his humility and a willingness to learn from their mistakes.
