As I write this article I am looking out the window of my home-office to green field after green field, a mountain range leading down to the beach. It is 24 °C (75 °F) and I am deciding if can fit a surf in before my 3:30 PM Meeting.
Life on the West Coast of Ireland is not always this great but every now and then I do need to pinch myself. The Guinness and sea food really is the best in the World and while I am no golfer I am told some of the best courses are never more than 100 KM away.
Choosing to live on the West Coasts has it’s down sides too; it does rain a lot in the winter and while this might put off some, those green fields need water to produce some of the most beautiful views in Europe.
Moving you and your family will always be a difficult decision, and this is why I am here to advise you. As part of my recruitment service for my clients I make sure that you see the location when you come for Interview, view accommodation options (rent / buy), looking at schooling for your children along with fully briefing you on what to expect in your Interview.
The weather might be better in other parts of Europe, but the quality of life is second to none here. You can have the perfect blend of everything on your door step, from an uncongested outdoors, ranging from uncrowded beaches, to beautiful hill walks, to cosy traditional pubs with a great live vibrant music scene, to an eclectic mix of great restaurants serving fresh seafood and fish, not to mention some of the best cuts of beef and lamb around.
All in all, it is the perfect place to relocate if you are lover of the finer things in life, whether it be a young single professional, or a couple with a young family.
To conclude, if I were to summarise what makes the West of Ireland stand out, it is first and foremost it’s friendly people, the strong sense of community, and the quality of life you can have here. It certainly possesses a certain charm.
At ISS Ltd we do more than preach how good it is to work and live on the west coast of Ireland, we live it.
