The COVID-19 pandemic has had a lasting effect on the way we work. As companies around the world have adopted remote working, the business attire we were once accustomed to has changed drastically. The days of wearing a suit and tie to the office are slowly fading away, with more employers and employees favouring more comfortable, relaxed attire.
This shift away from formal business attire has been seen in both large corporate organisations and small businesses alike. With so many of us now working from home, there’s an increased focus on comfort, with many people favouring loungewear over a suit and tie.
The rise of video conferencing, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, has also affected how we dress for work. With many of us now having video meetings from our homes, there’s less need to dress up as much as we would have done for the office.
It’s safe to say that COVID-19 has certainly given the death nail to suits for business attire. Whilst they may still be seen from time to time, many of us are now favouring a more relaxed dress code.
